Jay Cutler = Messiah?

As I was driving to a funeral today, I was listening to my vice (sports talk radio), and one of the commentators made the statement, "Jay Cutler is walking around like he is the Messiah...". I laughed to myself and thought, "Just what do they think Jesus thought of Himself?" How much of the story does our culture not know anymore? Do they not remember His birth in a humble cave? His youth in a humble carpenter's shop? His days of traveling the earth without home or possession? His choice to live with the dregs of society, though embodying the name, "King of kings, Lord of lords"? His accepting public humiliation, physical abuse, and eventual death; though he was completely innocent of any wrong-doing?

No, I am afraid I fail to see the similarity between my savior and a spoiled rich kid whose pride was hurt. Might want to choose a different analogy.
